I am posting this from San Antonio where I am having a great professional conference that runs 5 days.  But I have to tell ya, I really don't know how Shir does  it.  Traveling and training really throws a wrench in your plan.  My sleeping, eating and social schedule is completely upside down.  Yesterday, I decided to jump out and do a quick run before dinner, it took me 1hr 10min to do a 45 minute run?!@?#  I looked up a route on Athleticmindedtraveler.com and did my best to follow it, but somewhere an absent thought and a wrong turn and I was in a neighborhood where white men in spandex are not so much embraced.  I eventually found my way back to the hotel and went to dinner that lasted until midnight.  The last time I was up until midnight was New Years Eve, no early morning workout before the conference.  I hope to make it back to the fitness center later before going out to another 3k calorie gut busting dinner but I imagine I will be landing in West Palm a little heavier and a lot softer than when I left.  Shir, how do you do it man?

This looks to be a cool site! I too train in NPB but am in no way close to the same league as you & Shir. I have been following Shir's time since I fist saw him outside RS after what must have been a killer workout with George not quite 2 years ago. I have always thought the Shir's level of performance would be a good example of what to strive for myself. That "ain't happenin' " but it is still fun (in am IM way) to try.

Just curious, why don't you post your training schedule for days other than the weekend?

Keep up the good work!!!

Scott,
Thanks for the comment! I will be posting workouts for M-F as we move into July. We will be running T&Th mornings and swim W-Fr mornings.

Are you interested in joining any of the workouts?

Hey Mark,

I have a training schedule that I follow each month given to me by my coach/trainer. I work in FTL, have an aspiring triathlete wife, two young children and two not young in-laws, which makes any sort of set times for training tricky. I have to be flexible. I had to do my Wednesday Bike last night from 9:30 to 12:30 because of the thunder storms. We've all been there...

Tuesdays (27-3200 yds), Thursdays (1000 yds) & Fridays (22-2600yds) I swim (yep, I'm that slow...). I also run
immediately following my swim, Tuesdays (30 minutes zone 2) & Thursdays ( tempo, 5 miles). Wednesdays I do a bike workout on my Cyclops (2:40 to 3:00 hours). Saturdays are LSD runs (10-12 miles this month) followed by an "optional" ocean swim around the bouys a couple times. I usually do this in the late morning or early afternoon so I can be ready for the heat at IMF. Sundays are for bricks (65-80 mile ride followed by a 3-5 mile run this month). I'll definately look out for you & Shir and try to join you for a weekend ride.

See ya out there...
