The initial temptation to sign up for an Ironman Triathlon is the challenge of wanting to conquer the unthinkable distance of 2.4, 112, 26.2 - and also a fair amount of peer pressure. Your friends are saying, I'll do it if you do it with me... Each time I have signed up it has been along with either family or friends because the journey and experience is unforgettable and typically something too daunting to try alone. Of course registration alone does not guarantee that the person who dared you to jump in the water is going in with you, sometimes the biggest challenge is getting to the starting line without the barrier of health, family or work. IMFL is no exception. Already some of those who initially registered have seen their dream of hearing YOU ARE AN IRONMAN shout across the PA system postponed to a later date. My hope is that as I train this year, I will share my workouts and experiences for all to see and comment on. I am also hoping by doing this that I can encourage some of you to train with me, regardless if you are racing. I will officially kick off my training the first week of July and count down from week 16 to race day. It will be a epic and I hope you will join me.... Mark
